Community Centric Church Hosts New Year’s Eve Comedy Jam

Kingdom Builders Christian Fellowship (KBCF), an East Oakland ministry committed to building community one soul at a time, will host a New Year’s Eve comedy jam at its East Oakland church, located at 7272 MacArthur Blvd. in Oakland. The show starts at 8 p.m.
“King of Clean” A.J. Jamal, known for television appearances including  “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, HBO’s “Comic Relief” and “Show Time at the Apollo,” will headline a night of comedy along with Mo Jones, Kirk McHenry and the young and upcoming Lenard Jackson.
Jamal, from Cleveland Ohio, was always armed with a technique for making people laugh at the drop of a dime.  Beneath the funny exterior, there is a man with a heart of gold committed to taking his life-long dreams of making people laugh to the pinnacle of success. Tickets are free and must be picked up Tuesday through Friday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 7272 MacArthur Blvd. in Oakland.
KBCF, a 21st century ministry serving in the heart of East Oakland, is led by senior pastor LJ Jennings. Pastor LJ is committed to reaching the un-churched through non-traditional approaches. “Our job as Christians is to make non church folks feel comfortable. We should keep the message sacred but not the method when it comes to wining souls to the kingdom”, he said.
In an effort to minister to the total man, KCBF’s vision is to create and establish a “Dream Center,” a refuge from homelessness, gangs, prostitution, abuse, and family crisis: a place where individuals can come to receive love, encouragement and support services that are aimed at restoring them to be productive in society and for the Kingdom of God.
On Christmas Sunday the church will continue its annual distribution of toys to families with children who may otherwise not receive gifts. The ministry hosts many other outreach and community events to uplift individuals and the community it serves.
