Felix Tan Promoted to Police Sergeant

Felix Tan, a 20-year law enforcement veteran, has been promoted to the position of sergeant in the Richmond Police Department. Born in Singapore, Tan came to the U.S. at the age of 12. He began his career as a reserve Police Officer and jailer for the Concord Police Department and in 1995 joined the department in Richmond.

He has worked in Richmond as part of new officer’s orientation and as Police Training Officer, Motor Unit, Crime Scene Investigator, Marine Unit, Geography Trainer, Contra Costa Academy Liaison, Police Reserve Coordinator, Mobile Field Force and Probation Review Board member. Tan has also served as the Richmond Police Officer’s Association treasurer for 6 years. He has 2 daughters, ages 14 and 17
