Since it was founded in 1988, the Robinson Weeks Robinson Scholarship Foundation has awarded over 100 scholarships, totaling $100,000, to local students wishing to pursue careers in medicine, science, technology, engineering or math. The group was organized in memory of three African-American physicians who cared for Richmond-San Pablo patients for more than 50 years: Dr. Paul T. Robinson, Dr. Samuel Weeks and Dr. Julius C. Robinson. The foundation also serves West Contra Costa Unified School District students with mentoring activities and is currently planning a leadership conference next year for high school seniors. The First Annual Robinson Weeks Robinson Historic Walk/ Health Fair will take place in September. The walk will start at the Richmond Marina and end at the Rosie the Riveter Memorial Park. Proceeds will support the scholarship fund. .This summer, the foundation will start an organic garden project with participation by local high school students.
