ACLU Paul Robeson Chapter Meets May 19th

The Paul Robeson Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) will host an expert on police accountability at its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 19 at the Rotunda, Hayward’s City Hall, in the Hayward Civic Center at 777 B St. The event will feature University of Nebraska’s Isaacson Professor of Criminal Justice Sam Walker, a nationally known expert on police accountability and a civil liberties historian. Walker is the author of many books including, “The Police in America “and “The New World of Police Accountability.” The ACLU chapter will present its Grover Dye Award to an outstanding local civil libertarian, as well as present three local seniors with scholarships.
