Free Algebra Summer Program

Mills Grove Christian Church and California State University (CSU) are offering a free six-week summer Algebra Institute starting Monday July 2 at Frick Middle School, 2845 64th St. in Oakland. Each week’s schedule will provide four days of instruction plus a community field trip, including a visit to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Institute at Stanford University and an overnight stay at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The summer program will conclude with a community service project and reception at J.L. Richard Terrace Senior Housing Facility. Under the leadership of Pastor Clarence L. Johnson, the program is attracting students of African American, Latino, Tongan and other ethnic backgrounds.
