Eight-year-old Richmond native Atallah Allen is a rising track and field star who is currently ranked number 19 in the country for her impressive 100-meter dash.
Atallah is a member of the Oakland Police Activities League (OPAL) and has established an outstanding track record in the two years that she has been member.
Her tremendous talent and tenacious attitude has catapulted her to the 21st spot on this year’s National Elite Youth Ranking System.
Atallah competed in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) West Coast Junior Olympics in Sparks, NV, placing third in the 100m dash and second in the 200m dash, which qualifies her to compete in the 2012 National AAU Junior Olympics Games 9 at the end of July in Houston, Texas.
Atallah’s parents, Anissa and Anthony Allen, are seeking contributions to underwrite costs of her travel to Houston the Junior Olympics. The Allen family’s fundraising goal is $2,720.
Individuals and businesses can send contributions to the Oakland Police Activities League in support of Atallah Allen to the Oakland PAL at P.O. Box 6788, Oakland, CA 94603.
