Woodley and Collins Appear in “Mama Juggs”

Emmy Award winning producer Anita Woodley and West Coast Blues Hall of Fame singer and songwriter Augusta Lee Collins will be coming to Oakland as part of their California tour. The performance will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at the Fellowship of Humanity Hall, 390 27th St. in Oakland. On Saturday, Aug. 25, at midnight, the show will also be presented at Sweet Fingers Jamaican Restaurant, 464 E. 14th St. in San Leandro. Woodley will perform her award-winning solo play, “Mama Juggs,” which confronts issues of women’s breast health among other struggles women face.  She will also present, “The Men In Me,” a play that pays homage to Black males who hunger to grow despite their chosen roads. Augusta Collins will accompany Woodley, singing his hits, “Big Leg Women,”“Love Will Find A Way, ” and others. Tickets are  $20-$35.
