Two white Atlanta police officers have been cleared of racially profiling movie director, actor and studio owner Tyler Perry, several news outlets reported on Wednesday.
“The evidence shows the actions of both officers with regard to the traffic stop of Mr. Perry were justified, lawful and proper,” the police department said in a statement.
Police stopped Perry after he made an illegal left turn in his Porsche Panamera on February 24. He made the illegal turn to make sure he was not being followed, according to his Facebook post.
The cops questioned Perry ,and one of them badgered him, he wrote. A Black police officer arrived at the scene and immediately recognized Perry. Police did not ticket him.
Perry did not file a complaint, but he posted the incident on his Facebook page, and after reading it, police launched an investigation.
