The Davis Chapel will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a harvest revival entitled, “A Call to Repentance,” Nov. 14 – 16 at St. Peter CME Church, 5324 Cypress Ave. in El Cerrito.
All are invited to attend the three-day celebration, which features Davis Chapel’s Pastor Cassandry Keys on Wednesday; Pastor Lummie Hearn, St. Peter CME Church on Thursday; and Pastor Charley Hames, Jr., Beebe Cathedral on Friday.
The celebration will end will end with a service on Sunday Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. at Greater New Bethel Apostolic Church, 101 Market Ave., Richmond. Bishop James B. Walker, Presiding Prelate, 9th Episcopal District of the CME Church, will be the featured speaker.
Davis Chapel congregants will also celebrate the steadfastness demonstrated by the congregation, despite losing their church at 369 Chesley Ave. to a fire on Thanksgiving Day 2003.
Since that time, the congregation has remained faithful to the divine mandate to minister to the Richmond Community while worshipping at St. Peter CME Church in El Cerrito.
The congregation also announces that work on new church is 73 percent completed and wishes to thank all those who have demonstrated support to the Davis Chapel family through the years.
