Christmas in Richmond is a community-based project that works hard at meeting the needs of the less fortunate on Christmas Day. The group prepares homemade meals and gives away gift cards, wrapped toys, clothing and shoes to those in need. Founder Burgundie Spears, who launched the project in 2006, says change in her hometown is most rewarding. Donations are needed of non-perishable food and new and slightly used clothing and toys.
