Councilman Booze to Receive NAACP Peace & Freedom Award

The Richmond Branch of the NACCP has announced that an award established to recognize individuals demonstrating acts of non-violence will go to Councilman Corky Booze (right), who responded non-violently to a physical attack. The Richmond NAACP and the other members of the Community Mobilization Leadership Coalition have officially adopted this award that will become an annual recognition of a person in the community who demonstrates non-violence in the face of adversity. This award will be presented to Councilman Booze at the NAACP Richmond Branch Annual Freedom Fund & Membership Awards Banquet on Feb. 2. For ticket information call Willie Robinson at (415) 722-9167.
