Young Community Developers, Inc. will celebrate 40 years of job preparation, placement and preservation services in San Francisco’s Southeast Sector, Friday March 22, at the Hotel Whitcomb in San Francisco.
The benefit will honor Lennar Urban and San Francisco Public Utilities Commission General Manager Harlan Kelly for their work to improve the community.
Proceeds will support the organization’s Barrier Mitigation and Education Services (including GED and school district tutorial programs), which provides individuals opportunities for ensuring they are employable in the fields of construction, engineering, technology, hospitality and retail.
Young Community Developers Executive Director Shamann Walton says job training and placement are critical and the group has continued to create pathways for job opportunities.
“Keeping in line with Mayor Lee’s 17 points from his “Roadmap to Jobs and Opportunity,” the organization continues to provide quality trainings—utilizing evidenced based curriculum—so that individuals receive tangible employment opportunities,” said Walton.
Tickets are $75. Corporate sponsorships available from $2,500 to $10,000.
