The Music Ministry of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church is presenting a spring concert on Saturday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 101 Donahue St. in Marin City.
The Mistress of Ceremonies for the concert is Ann Lamott. She is the author of “Help Thanks Wow,” reflections of what the writer considers the three essential prayers, and a memoir, “Some Assembly Required: A Journal of My Son’s First Son.”
Yvonne DeVaughn, singer, songwriter, pianist and organist from Casa Granda, AZ, will be the special guest. DeVaughn is director of the Advocacy for Victims of Abuse Ministry for the Evangelical Covenant Churches, and shares her personal story of long-term childhood sexual abuse in her presentations and workshops.
She also suggests ways to help individuals on their journey to recovery and hope.
The guest soloist is James Monroe Iglehart from Hayward, who has had a successful Broadway career and performed “The Wiz,” the Tony award winning “Memphis the Musical,” and the upcoming new Broadway musical Disney’s “Aladdin.”
Pastor Veronica Giones and the St. Andrew Choir and friends will also be in the concert.
