The green Senior BART ticket is being replaced by the Senior Clipper card, an all-in-one transit card.
The clipper card keeps track of multiple passes, ride books or tickets (which are specific to the transit system being used), as well as up to $300 in cash value at one time, while applying all applicable fares, discounts and transfer rules.
BART staff will issue free Clipper cards on the spot at a presentation Friday, May 24, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the San Leandro Senior Community Center, 13909 East 14th St., San Leandro.
Customers must be 65 years or older to qualify and must apply for a Senior Clipper card in person.
While the Clipper card is free, it has no cash value until customers add to it. Customers will learn at the presentation where and how to add cash value.
