The Shahrzad Dance Company will present a free 45-minute program that includes Persian dance demonstrations, audience participation, a lecture and a Q & A session at the San Leandro Main Library, Thursday, June 27 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 300 Estudillo Ave. The dance company is a non-profit organization founded by Shahrzad Khorsandi in 1996. The academy is a cultural training ground, using a structured curriculum of traditional Persian movement as a cultural foundation, while providing the space to artistically explore choreography in contemporary Persian dance.
