The Salvation Army is giving away shopping sprees to qualified underprivileged children, ages 5 to 12. Children 4 years old will also be accepted with proof of acceptance into kindergarten. Shopping sprees will be given on August 10 where children will shop for new clothes at Target, receive backpacks and school supplies. To be eligible, both parents must present their picture I.D., proof of income, proof of Marin residence, and birth certificates for child (ren). The Salvation Army will be accepting applications June 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; June 20 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and June 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parents/legal guardians can get applications at The Salvation Army, 351 Mission Avenue in San Rafael.
