Paul Cobb, publisher of the Post News Group, has announced the appointment of Thomas W. Angelo as an advisor to the Stockton Post.
Angelo says he looks forward to the challenge of making the Post “Our recorded news in the valley.”
A graduate of the class of ’62 at McClymonds High School in West Oakland, he will be reporting to the publisher as an account executive, staff contributor and distribution advisor.
Angelo will have a featured column, ”The Beacon Deacon,” covering community and faith-based, articles. The articles will cover news from Mountain House to the west, Angels Camp to the east, Modesto to the south and Sacramento City limits to the north.
A Kaiser Permanente retiree and ordained deacon at North Oakland Missionary Baptist Church, 1993 (Pastor Sylvester Rutledge, [DD])), Angelo, a seminarian, has earned a degree in Theology (ThD) and Life Experience Education (EdD), Biblical Counseling at Ashwood University in 2007.
He also holds a master’s degree in Christian Counseling, 2001, and bachelor’s degree in Religious Education, 1999, from Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College, Stockton Extension School.
Angelo completed an AA in Biblical Studies, at STSBC, an AA in Business Administration, was a Ford Foundation scholar at Merritt College and completed certificated programs at the Federal Aviation Administration Academy. He successfully completed the Music and Record Industry Extended Education Program at CSUSF.
Angelo and his wife Aundrea have lived in Stockton since 1995. Last Sunday, he filled in for Pastor Eddie Hare Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Unity Southern Baptist Church at the 11 a.m. service. The topic was, “Origins,” text Genesis 1:1. (“Oh Happy Day”).
The Angelos share six children, 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
