God’s Throne Missionary Baptist Church has been a pillar in the Stockton community since 1964.
Started in the home of a church member, Dr. Zaccheaus Dunham Sr. founded and pastored the church for 45 years before passing the baton to one of his eight sons, Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Dunham Sr.
Four of the Dunham brothers also pastor sister churches in California: Dr. Zaccheaus Dunham Jr. of Agape Baptist Church in Tracy; Rev. Mark Dunham Sr. of Greater Zion Baptist Church in Modesto; Rev. Ronald Dunham Sr. of Second Baptist Church in Merced; and Dr. Anthony Dunham, Sr. of Friendship Baptist Church in Seaside.

Under the leadership of founder Dr. Zaccheaus Dunham Sr., God’s Throne has organized monthly food and clothing giveaways. The church has also worked to improve drug-infested areas within the community.
“We teach every soul who comes into this sanctuary that we need to give God our all – all our devotion, all our admiration, all our passion and all our commitment,” says Pastor Timothy Dunham Sr. on the church website.
He and his wife Beverly Dunham celebrated their second year anniversary in July as pastor and wife.
The church’s frequent activities include Friday Night Live for youth and adults ages 16 to 40 and Movie and Games Night for children ages 5 to 15. They sponsor the Dr. Zaccheaus Dunham Sr. Scholarship Fund, giving students financial support to help them accomplish their goals.
God’s Throne Baptist Church is located at 405 E. Lindsay St. in Stockton.
