Started in 1998 by a small group of members, Faith Fellowship Baptist Church is known as one of the fastest growing churches in Vallejo.
The church moved from the North Vallejo Community Center, where it congregated for nearly a year in 2000, to a temporary location on Tennessee Street to accommodate its growing congregation. In 2001, the congregation found a permanent home at 551 Sonoma Blvd.
Under the leadership of Pastor Rodney Leggett, the church moved into a new house of worship in 2004. Serving at Faith Fellowship for over eight years, Leggett is also the moderator of the Progressive Baptist Missionary Education District Association and president of the North Vallejo Ministers Alliance.
Now, Faith Fellowship is taking strides in bringing its message to the community.
Church members say they seek to encourage personal growth and reach people of all ages from different walks of life through their youth ministry, young adult group, Women of Faith group, and Brother-2-Brother men’s accountability group.
The church holds the men’s group every Monday night at 9 p.m.
In 2012, church members published a book of devotionals, “40 Days and 40 Nights,” which is available at www.lulu.com.
“What makes this book different than any other devotional is that it was written by members of our church family. These are real people, with real experiences and real lessons learned,” it says on lulu.com.
