Marin Grassroots will be holding the Marin Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute Training Program, designed to help residents who want to become more actively involved in their communities.
In the training program, which will run from March to June, participants will learn how to serve in an advisory role, as a member of a public board or commission, to help direct policy by making recommendations to local elected policymakers and government management.
Each board or commission has an issue, policy and/or program focus, and local residents can make an impact in an area that they are passionate about.
A diverse group will be selected to participate in the training. Applications will be accepted from local community members who live, work, and/or study in Marin, and are affiliated with a local community-based organization.
Selected participants will receive a full scholarship.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 15, though completed application packets should be submitted as soon as possible. Selected applicants will be interviewed, and Marin Grassroots will notify those who are selected no later than Feb. 28.
