Also an award wining documentary cinematographer, Jeffery has taught photography and filmmaking in Alameda and Oakland public schools. He also worked as a senior television producer for the Monterey Office of Education.

His latest exhibit captures iconic views of Oakland that detail the city’s architectural structure and skyline. He says he wants others to see the beauty of Oakland beyond the violence-plagued streets.

“Our town is often cast in the shadow of San Francisco, though its distinctive character has roused cultural movements that have inspired the nation,” he said.

PHOTO gallery is open Thursday – Saturday from noon-6 p.m. and Sunday – Wednesday by appointment.
