The San Leandro Library will host a career-networking seminar with Eileen Williams on Thursday, June 12 at 7pm.
Eileen Williams is a nationally board-certified counselor with a master’s degree in Career Development who specializes in working with midlife jobseekers, showing them the latest techniques for landing a job in the 21st Century.
Williams has twenty years of combined experience as a career and life transition counselor, job search specialist, university instructor, and writer. Over her career, Eileen has worked with thousands of older applicants and knows the most effective methods to overcoming the special challenges they face. Her recently published book, Land the Job You Love: 10 Surefire Strategies for Jobseekers Over 50 is packed with insider tips to teach baby boomers how to navigate today’s competitive job market.
Williams will provide instruction on business networking skills, business etiquette, and lessons in contacting prospective employers using LinkedIn. These skills can be particularly useful for members of the public who are unemployed and over fifty years of age, as professional contacts can significantly increase the chances of being hired.
The seminar will be held at the Main Library, located at 300 Estudillo Avenue in Downtown. Admission is free. Copies of Williams’ book will be available for sale at the seminar for $10 each.
