The public is invited to attend an afternoon of music, food and friends to support the first annual Donors 4 Peace Fundraiser on Saturday, May 31 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Jack London Square at Q’s Lounge in Everett and Jones Barbeque, 125 Broadway in Oakland. Tickets are $35.
Peacemakers is sponsoring this event in partnership with the Mike Norris School of Baseball and Wellness, Civic Pride and AAU West Oakland Summer League Girls Basketball.
Oakland city councilwoman Lynette McElhaney will deliver the keynote address, and other
celebrity and political guests will also be in attendance.
KBLX’s Community Affairs Coordinator, Gerry Dove will host an afternoon featuring a live performance by the Westlake Middle School Jazz Combo and special guests the Destiny Muhammad Jazz Trio.
The Destiny Muhammad Jazz Trio has performed at Yoshi’s Japanese Supper Club, Yerba Buena Gardens, the Fairmont Hotel, and the Lloyd Center and for the San Francisco Giants World Pennant Gala. In addition, raffle tickets for the Oakland A’s will be sold throughout the afternoon.
Peacemakers is a non-profit mentoring organization that promotes the full potential of students, families and communities with the greatest needs by addressing their physical, emotional, intellectual and social challenges.
Peacemakers has served more than 10,000 students over that past 14 years, and seeks to expand the scope of its work with your support.
