A group of local chefs, restaurateurs and industry associates have organized a fundraiser to support Chef Richard Hyman’s recovery.
Hyman owned and operated Stockton Joe’s, a popular restaurant in downtown for nearly thirty years before closing the doors in March. He then took an executive chef position in French Camp but on the fourth day of the new job, a gas oven exploded and burned his hands, feet, and his head for nearly two minutes.
Chefs Help Chefs” is a group of local professionals dedicated to raising money to assist Chef Richard Hyman as he recovers from a potentially career-ending accident he suffered in a kitchen gas explosion. Executive Chef Chris Isert of Brookside Golf and Country Club is the host chef. Almost two-dozen chefs and pastry chefs will join him as they prepare specialty creations. Guests will enjoy popular regional wines and handcrafted beer offered by Valley Brew.
Gift baskets of donated items from some of TV’s most admired celebrity chefs will be raffled during the evening–in addition to dinners (or cooking classes) offered by the participating chefs.
The event will take place Monday, July 21 from 6pm to 9pm at Brookside Golf and Country Club, 3603 St Andrews Drive. Tickets can be purchased for $40.00 each at the four local businesses listed at www.facebook.com/chefshelpchefs.
The goal is to raise $15,000 for Chef Hyman’s recovery.
