The Revival Center Ministries, based in Vallejo, has started a new Sunday afternoon worship service in Marin City.
The services, which began on Sunday, July 28, are being held at the Senior Center. Apostle Ricky L. Nutt is pastor.
On Saturday afternoon, July 27, a Gospel and Praise Music concert was held on the grass near the 100 and 200 housing on Drake Street. In the morning, the Spirit of Revival Adult Choir sang Gospel, and in the afternoon, the Spirit of Revival Youth Choir sang Worship music.
Lunch was also served, children played in a jumper and a table was set up to give out free clothing. Several hundred people, many from the Revival Center, attended the event.
Nutt delivered a sermon, speaking of the need for people to change their lives toward God, to go from death to life and that our destiny is not determined by our past. But people need God to help change them, since change is not easy.
The revival center started in 1980 with just eight members. According to the church’s website, Revival Center Ministries is one of the largest truly “non-denominational” churches in the area. Revival hopes to become a catalyst for revival in Vallejo and for the entire San Francisco Bay Area.
The Revival Center’s new ministry in Marin City is not intended to displace members of the churches currently existing in Marin. It is for those who do not attend a church
Several people living in Marin City attend the Revival Center and have been working with the center to minister in Marin City. The Marin City Resident Council has also been instrumental in encouraging the center to conduct an afternoon service in Marin City and to be a ministry and benefit to people living in the area.
