Participants receive a mentor from the broader community. Other activities include team building and trips to place like Six Flags, the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

RPAL collaborated with Sylvia Montgomery of Best Impressions, who provided them with eight weeks of training in etiquette and social graces to promote social skills, interpersonal skills, proper dress and grooming guidelines.

The series concluded with a formal dinner at Hotel Mac, where students had the opportunity to apply their new social graces.

The RPAL mentorship program is facilitated by Brenda McCuistion, project manager. For more information, contact RPAL at (510) 621
