Stockton Graduates Celebrated with Annual Recognition Program;


The Black Employees Association of the Stockton Unified School District (BEASUSD) will hold its 24th annual Black Graduates’ Recognition Program on Sunday, June 8 and is inviting high school graduates of San Joaquin County to participate.

The event will celebrate the graduates’ accomplishments with the theme “Keep Moving Forward” and invites parents, family, friends, and church family to join in the celebration of this milestone.

Students will receive certificates, kente scarves, and scholarships for their achievements. The event will also recognize some of the most talented San Joaquin graduates.

Over the past 18 years, the BEASUSD has organized community programs and activities to support youth in San Joaquin County and to promote a united community. In addition to the annual Black Graduates’ Recognition Program, the organization holds an annual Kwanzaa celebration and Saturday school tutoring. They offer college admissions workshops, annual scholarships, and support parent advocacy.

The event will be held at 3 p.m. at Cesar Chavez High School, 2929 Windflower Lane in Stockton. Students interested in participating in the Black Graduates’ Recognition Program can visit by May 15 to register.
