Juneteenth Business Career Day in Stockton


The African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) of San Joaquin will hold its inaugural Juneteenth Business Career Day at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel on June 20 from 4:40 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Themed “Business Success and Community Sustainability”, the keynote speaker will be Aubrey Stone, President/CEO of the California Black Chamber of Commerce, and Director of the California Black Chamber Foundation.

Appointed by Governor Jerry Brown, Stone currently serves as a California Commissioner for Economic Development.

Rev. Willie A. Douglas, Social Justice Advocate will speak, from a business perspective, on the meaning behind the celebration of Juneteenth.

“We should work towards building communities in which the small/minority businesses can thrive and grow, rekindling the “can do” spirit,” said Douglass.

The AACC Juneteenth Business Career Day will include information on small businesses and for entertainment attendees will have the opportunity to participate in “soul line dancing” as well enjoy a fashion show. Food vendors will also be on site.
