Pastors in Oakland announced their endorsements for Mayor of Oakland Thursday morning in front of city hall.
After months of meetings and forums with candidates, the pastors endorsed Dan Siegel, Joe Tuman, and Bryan Parker as the top three for mayor.
Bishop Bob Jackson of Acts Full Gospel noted the need in this election to pick strong leadership that could lead and revitalize the city.
According to Pastor Russell Dooley of Kaleo Christian Fellowship, the pastors asked a variety of hard questions on topics such as jobs, crime, and education.
Pastors were then given a grading rubric that ranged from poor to excellent to score the candidates answers.
The top three candidates were selected based on the results.
