Ed Washington, from Castlemont High School, was named The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week” winner. The Knights defeated Emery High School in dominant defensive fashion, not allowing a second half score. Castlemont recorded their second win of the young season after not winning a game over the previous two seasons. The Knights improve their record to 2-2 on the season.

The Oakland Raiders High School “Coach of the Week” program, presented by the California National Guard, promotes high school football, giving high school coaches and teams the recognition that they deserve. Each recipient will be awarded a $2,000 donation to the school’s football program from The Oakland Raiders, the NFL Foundation and California National Guard, and a certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
