Desley Brooks has won reelection as the District 6 member of the Oakland City Council.
In the unofficial ranked choice count issued on Thursday, she received 55.1 percent of the vote.
“Thank you District 6 residents for re-electing me to represent you on the Oakland City Council,” Brooks wrote on her Facebook page. “I am honored to have your support and look forward to working with you on moving our district forward.”
Brooks has represented District 6 since 2002. In this year’s election, she faced three opponents, including a member of the City Council staff of Mayor-elect Libby Schaaf
