In a recently released Milken Institute Annual Report on best performing large cities, Vallejo jumped from being ranked 81 out of 200 in 2013 to being ranked to 43 of 200 in 2014.
Vallejo was the 26th fastest climbing community on the list last year. According to the study, the Milken Institute Best Performing Cities index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include job, wage and salary, and technological growth.
In most years, these numbers provide a good indication of the underlying structural performance of regional economics. This report is encouraging as Vallejo continues its mission to boost economic and job growth throughout the community. To read the full report, visit best-cities.org
