Workshop on Proposal Writing for Faith and Nonprofit Leaders

OCCUR and The San Francisco Foundation FAITHS Program will host the second in a series of free workshops, the 2015 Model Built on Faith Capacity Building Series VIII.

The workshop, Proposal Writing – Beyond the Basics, will be held on Friday March 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Alameda County Conference Center, 125 12th St., 4th floor in Oakland.

In a daylong session, Professor Marsha Maloof will train faith and nonprofit organizations on the techniques of proposal writing and how to make the strongest case for foundation funding. Professor Maloof, of Pendergrass Smith Consulting, is a seasoned nonprofit management consultant and adjunct professor of nonprofit organization development for Notre Dame de Namur University.

“This type of training is usually only open to university students,” says Carmen Bogan, Model Built on Faith Program Director. “Thanks to funding from the San Francisco Foundation, we’re able to bring it to faith and other nonprofit leaders from across the Bay Area for free. I encourage everyone who can to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Participants must commit to the full day of training. To RSVP, visit, contact (510) 839-2440 or [email protected]
