The Hannah Gallery in Marin City honored the mothers and grandmothers in Marin City at the gallery’s third annual Mother’s Day Brunch Saturday, May 9.
Oshalla Diana Marcus was the mistress of ceremonies.
This year’s honorees were Mary Adams, Saloma Anderson, Jackie Dedrick, Maribel Huaman and Florence Williams.
Bettie Hodges, Jennifer Chindo, and LeShawn Holcomb, staff of the Hannah Project, produced the event. Others from the community assisted including, Pastor Veronica Goines, Georgia Wade, Carl Dedrick, Alfreda Akognon, Delores Talley, Mide Sosimi, and Pastor Rondell Leggett.
Men and boys from the Marin City Fatherhood Project served as greeters and servers.
Rodessa Battle, Mary Peterson, Annie Small and Gustava Wilson were also honored and recognized as “Rosie the Riveters,” the women who worked in Marin shipyards during WWII.
