The public is invited to attend the 2015 Cherry Festival Parade, which will take place on Saturday, June 6 beginning at 10 a.m.
The parade will commence at the San Leandro Boys & Girls Club at the corner of San Leandro and Marina boulevards and will proceed north along San Leandro Boulevard, concluding at the Cherry Festival grounds near the corner of West Estudillo Avenue.
This year’s parade will include: a marching band, San Francisco cable cars, a 20-foot train, dance groups, floats, antique cars, characters from San Leandro’s history, decorated cars and vans, comic-con characters, a float with Princesses Elsa and Anna, and Star Wars characters.
An announcers’ and judges’ station also will be positioned at the corner of Juana Avenue and San Leandro Boulevard.
The Cherry Festival will start at 11 a.m. after the parade concludes.
Pictures and autographs with the characters and heroes will be available after the parade ends, and judges’ parade awards will be subsequently announced at the Cherry Festival Community Stage.
