Coliseum Lexus is Going Green

Coliseum Lexus has announced its renewed commitment to environmental responsibility and green business practices.

In addition to supporting a series of local Earth Day events in Oakland and Alameda last month, the dealership recommends Lexus Hybrid models, including the CT, NX, and RX, to its customers and uses recycled water to wash its cars.

“As a locally-owned dealership, we have always been focused on strengthening our community,” said Ron Fortt, General Manager of Coliseum Lexus of Oakland. “And protecting our environment is a great way to do that.”

Coliseum Lexus, 2014‘s fastest growing Lexus dealership in Northern California based on cars sold, supported Laney College of Oakland’s EcoFest Sustainability Festival in April. The dealership also joined other green businesses of the East Bay Area at Alameda’s annual Earth Day Festival.

“We wanted to join other like-minded businesses in celebrating Earth Day,” Fortt said. “And to raise awareness about the steps Coliseum Lexus is taking to be more sustainable.”

At Alameda’s Earth Day Festival, Coliseum Lexus introduced local residents to Lexus’ Hybrid models, which can feature up to 43 miles per gallon city. The dealership also publicized its use of recycled water for every car wash it performs.

Washing cars is a frequent event at every car dealership in the country, but Coliseum Lexus does so sustainably. And due to California’s ongoing water crisis, reusing water is more important than ever.

The Coliseum Lexus of Oakland team is committed to being green. “Oakland is an incredible city. And we think it can be even better if its resources are used sustainably,” Fortt said. “So we’re doing our part.”

Coliseum Lexus of Oakland has been locally owned and operated since its opening in 2002.

In addition to supporting the Oakland community with its green business practices, the dealership has sponsored the East Oakland Youth Development Center, Alameda County Food Bank, Friends of Faith, and many other organizations over the years.
