Aliya Hall Wins National NAACP Award



The Oakland NAACP and Imani Youth Council will honor Aliya Hall with the Bronze ACT-SO award during a ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. in Oakland.



ACT-SO is an academic competition of the NAACP, providing a forum for African-American high school students to demonstrate their talents. The contest features winners in science, performing arts, humanities, culinary arts, visual arts, and entrepreneurship.
