Gay Plair Cobb Honored for 30 Years of Service

Oakland City Council this week honored Gay Plair Cobb, CEO of the Oakland Private Industry Council (PIC), for her 30 years of dedicated service assisting job seekers in Oakland. Through her leadership, the Oakland PIC has provided training and employment services to thousands of local residents through job training programs and One-Stop Career Centers throughout the city.

Several community leaders spoke at Tuesday’s City Council meeting acknowledging Cobb’s leadership at the Oakland PIC and in the Bay Area community.

Many speakers also called for the city’s Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to ensure that the necessary federal workforce investment funds go to the Oakland PIC for its continued work.
