Oakland Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) will be celebrating its five-year anniversary by “Honoring the Fighters” on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m., recognizing those who are struggling day in and day out to lift up the voices of working people and communities of color across the East Bay.
The fundraising event will be held at the Humanist Hall at 390 27th St. between Telegraph & Broadway in Oakland.
This year, ACCE will honor Quinn Delaney, president of the Akonadi Foundation, a major supporter and partner in progressive causes throughout Oakland and across the country.
ACCE will also honor the “Fight for 15” Campaign and the East Bay Organizing Committee (EBOC) for their work on behalf of fast food workers and changing the narrative around wages and worker rights throughout the Bay and beyond.
In addition, ACCE will recognize members who are fighting every day to save homes, fight for bus riders and build power and equity for the communities where they live and work.
