Kenia Serrano Puig, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and a member of Cuba’s National Assembly, will speak next week in Richmond and San Francisco on the Cuban perspective on the new stage of U.S.-Cuba relations and what can be done to strengthen friendship between the people of both countries.
The San Francisco speaking event, which will also include Leima Martinez of ICAP, North America Division, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11, 7 p.m. at 2969 Mission St. in San Francisco. For information call (415) 821-6545.
The Richmond event will be held Friday, Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m. at the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, 339 11th St. in Richmond.
Additional speakers will include a welcome by Richmond City Councilmember Gayle McLaughlin; Dr. Laura Gomez, recently graduated from the Latin America School of Medicine (ELAM); and Walter Turner, KPFA Host of Africa Today.
