The holiday season is quickly approaching, and Downtown Richmond is getting ready for its annual Downtown Holiday Festival on Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., hosted by a partnership of Richmond Main Street Initiative, East Bay Center for the Performing Arts and the City of Richmond.
Visits and photo opportunities with Santa take place from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Giveaways for children include books donated by West County Reads and gift bags for young children (while supplies last).
Families will also have opportunities to enjoy live music and caroling outside and in the Community Theater as well as two shows in the Iron Triangle Theater at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., featuring a new “Richmond Nutcracker” presented by East Bay Center students and faculty artists.
Following the second performance, a procession known as La Rama will lead guests to the corner of 11th Street and Macdonald Avenue for group caroling and the ceremonial illumination of the holiday lights along historic “Main Street.”
Admission is free and made possible through support from Kaiser Permanente, the Share the Spirit program, City of Richmond and individual donors.
