The Ephesian Church of God in Christ in Berkeley has selected Bishop Johnathan D. Logan Sr. as the church’s new pastor and the Northern California Second Jurisdiction’s new bishop.Logan’s inauguration banquet is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at H’s Lordship Restaurant, 1600 Seawall Dr., in Berkeley.
Tickets are still available and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be available the day of the event.
Logan assumes the role following the death of Bishop Robert-Richard Carr, who served as pastor for the Ephesian Church for more than 20 years and initiated the Northern California Second Jurisdiction.
Bishop Logan also pastors Cornerstone Community Church in Sausalito. He was appointed to bishop by Church of God in Christ Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, the General Board and General Assembly of the Church of God in Christ in November 2015, during the 108th Holy Convocation in St. Louis, MO.
The April 23 brunch will publicly acknowledge and celebrate his consecration. The community is invited to join Bishop Logan, the Greater Northern California Second Jurisdiction, family, friends and well-wishers to this event.
