Audrey Dave Turns 100

Mrs. Audrey Dave, a resident of the Oakland Healthcare and Wellness Center, located at 3030 Webster Street will celebrate her 100th birthday on July 20 with her family and friends.

Mrs. Dave was born and lived most of her 100 years in New Orleans. She moved to the Bay Area in 2005 after suffering through the horrible destruction of Hurricane Katrina.

She was rescued by her grandson Kyle Olivier, who drove her and her daughter Cheryl to Dallas, Texas where he arranged a flight to Oakland for them to live with her other daughter Elena in Berkeley.

She obtained an apartment at the Percy Abrams, Jr. Senior housing on Alcatraz Avenue at San Pablo Avenue in Oakland. She attended St. Columba Catholic Church. While living there, she traveled daily by Paratransit to attend a senior center in Berkeley.

For the past six years, she has resided at Oakland Healthcare, receiving excellent care. She is also attended to by her adult children, Cheryl, Henry, Elena and Glenn. At least one of them visits her every day.
