About 200 people attended Trades Day II on Wednesday last week at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium, where they were connected with information related to temporary employment involving the $1 billion Richmond Refinery Modernization Project.
The event, hosted by Chevron and RichmondBuild, offered resource fairs that could link local residents with a number of opportunities – both construction and non-construction – with several local unions and the City of Richmond working on the Refinery modernization project.
Akeele Carter, Chevron local hire coordinator for the Modernization Project, called the second Trades Day event a success. The previous event took place last year in April.
“Folks were very excited and super appreciative about getting connected to potential employment and training opportunities,” said Akeele Carter, Chevron’s local hire coordinator for the Modernization Project.
