The community is invited to help beautify North Richmond and then be treated to a fun family festival on Saturday, April 22.
The 7th Annual North Richmond Festival & Earth Day Celebration will include a community cleanup of Wildcat Creek as well as garden projects for volunteers.
Volunteer activities will run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with volunteers asked to report to Verde Elementary at 2000 Giaramita St. Afterward from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a festival will be held at the Ballfield/Park at Fred Jackson Way and Pittsburg Ave.
The festival will feature free food, a bike rodeo, live music and entertainment, a petting zoo and pony rides, arts and crafts, bouncy houses for kids, an appearance by Oakland A’s mascot Stomper, eco awareness and healthy living resources and more.
The festival event is presented by the Neighborhood House of North Richmond, with sponsorship and support by the city, county, Chevron, Mayor Tom Butt’s Office, Urban Tilth, Sims Metal and more.
