Palava H.U.T. (Hearing, Understanding and Teaching) is an open forum that allows communities to discuss various problems within the community. This forum, hosted by HEAL, Coalition for Justice in Liberia, and Love113, focuses on rape and sexual assault and the effects it has on the Liberian community both in the U.S. and in Liberia.
The Palava H.U.T. is the first in a series of awareness campaigns which aims to shine light on the issue of rape and sexual assault in the Liberian community. There will be a screening of the documentary “Small Small Things” which tells the story of the rape and death of 9-year-old Olivia Zinnah on August 27, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Oakland Public Library,125 14th St., Oakland; 510-470-0365 and followed by a panel discussion.
