Jimmy Garoppolo – Earned a C for the first series. He went 3-for-6 passes for 35 yards. He connected with Marquise Goodwin who recorded 3 carries for 34 yards. Garoppolo was done after the first series.
49ers (1st half) – Defense was pretty disappointing in the first two quarters. They allowed two touchdowns and the Cowboys took an easy 14-0 lead. The first game of the pre-season proved to be a “work-in-progress”. .
C.J. Beathard went deep to Aldrick Robinson for 33 yards. But on the next play, Beathard threw his first interception. The intended pass was for Malcolm Johnson and Joe Thomas made the interception in the second quarter.
The 49ers lost four starters due to injuries all within the first five minutes of the game. Solomon Smith had a concussion, Malcolm Smith pulled his hamstring, George Kittle wand Matt Breida with a shoulder injury.
Ten minutes left in the second quarter and the 49ers score their first touchdown the hard way. Joe Williams rushed up the middle for the 1-yard touchdown, that drive took 10 plays for 85 yards in 3:54. C.J. Beathard took over the game and went 10-for-20 for 181 yards with one interception.
(2nd half) – The 49ers Robbie Gould kicked a 26-yard field goal to make it a 14-10 game.
Nick Mullens threw his first interception. Mullens intended pass was for Victor Bolder Jr. but Due Thomas intercepted and rushed for 10 yards in the fourth.
Jeremy McNichols rushes in the end zone for the 1-yard touchdown. 49ers go for the two-point conversion and fail to get into the end zone.
Dak Prescott – Earned a A for the first series. It took 10 plays 75 yards and 5:27 to find Michael Gallup for a 30-yard touchdown in the first series. Dallas used their running game before Prescott went deep for the touchdown. Rod Smith had 8 attempts for 32 yards. Prescott was pulled after the first series.
Cowboys (1st half) – Dallas’ offense dominated throughout the first two quarters. Bo Scarbrough rushed for 28 yards, that setup Rush’s 18 yard pass to Blake Jarwin. Scarbrough then leaped over his defenders for the 1-yard touchdown extending the Cowboys lead 14-0 with 4:04 left in the first half.
(2nd half) – The Cowboys offense behind Prescott or Rush continued to stay strong. Rush went deep in the middle to Marchie Murdock who was all alone for 31 yards and the first down in the third. Rush then found Lance Lenoir for the 2-yard pass for the touchdown to extend their lead 21-10.
