Women in Ministry Series (Part 2): Valerie Miles-Tribble, Educator and Pastor


The Rev. Dr. Valerie Miles-Tribble, Assistant Professor at the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, and Pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, 430-49th St., Oakland.

Described as “ordained clergy, community activist, and servant,” The Reverend Dr. Valerie Miles-Tribble is a recognized leader and educator in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Ordained in 2001, Dr. Miles-Tribble is a leading expert in womanist theology, social justice advocacy, and community organizing. She presently serves as Pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church in Oakland and is an assistant professor of Ministerial Leadership and Practical Theology at the American Baptist Seminary in Berkeley.

Fully prepared through education and practice along with her doctoral degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary, Tribble has a Ph.D. in Management with an emphasis in Leadership and Organization Change from Walden University in Minnesota.

“She is passionate about ministry training to develop transformational leaders, empower women, families, and communities,” reads her biography at Faith Presbyterian Church.
