San Leandro Library Celebrates Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with the One Myanmar Community Dancers

In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Month, the San Leandro Public Library invites the community to celebrate with One Myanmar Community (OMC) dancers. The live cultural dance performance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Main Library, located at 300 Estudillo Avenue in Downtown San Leandro.

Since its founding, OMC has been actively participating and initiating events and activities that benefit the entire San Francisco Bay Area.

Formerly known as the Burmese Youth Association (BYA), One Myanmar Community dancers was founded on October 12, 2007 by a group of Myanmar students and friends from the Bay Area to empower the Myanmar community. OMC’s other objectives include: connecting Myanmar with non-Myanmar organizations, supporting education and career networking for new immigrants and youth from Myanmar, and promoting Myanmar culture.
