Published

on

The Oakland Private Industry Council (PIC) recently hosted a recruitment event for the transportation company Uber, Tuesday, March 1 at the West Oakland Career Center. Uber Recruiter Dametra Williams (pictured, center) spoke with job seekers about using the Uber app and the benefits of working as a partner driver – including a flexible work schedule and earning a living wage while driving patrons around town. Most drivers can make at least $35 an hour, according to Williams.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age or older; have had a valid driver’s license for one year; have access to a 2001 or newer vehicle and have insurance; have an email address and phone number. The next Uber recruitment will be held Tuesday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the West Oakland Career Center, 1801 Adeline St., Suite 209 in Oakland. For more information, call (510) 419-0392.
